Hi friends! I’m Gail from Sunflower Seams Pattern Company. We are a military family so I am always drawn to patriotic prints. Especially when they feature ditsy florals. I knew when I saw the new American Dream collection by Dani Mogstad that I HAD to get my hands on some!
I am all about vintage styles so when I saw the American Dream Floral Red print I knew that must be the print I use. And it pairs so perfectly with the American Dream Plaid Off White print!
I chose to sew up my Bluebell pattern, available at Sunflower Seams. Bluebell is the epitome of summer and vintage. It is the perfect dress to wear on a picnic. So, that was my inspiration for this make. A beautiful summer dress perfect for a picnic.
Bluebell features a waistband making it the perfect pattern for mixing prints. I just love how the red floral looks as if it’s a separate skirt with a bodice tucked in.
The sweet shoulder bows make the perfect canvas for showing off a statement print like this gorgeous floral. And, you can even use the pattern pieces to make matching hair bows as well!
We can’t wait to take this dress picnicking this summer!
