The crisp autumn air has arrived and we are ready to cozy up in our sewing room with the new Fall in Love with Batiks pattern! We are thrilled to share Fall in Love with Batiks by Bluebird Patterns with the world and share our companion video tutorials with you!
Fall in Love with Batiks is a gorgeous pattern that includes instructions to make a quilt (87″ x 99″), table runner (19″ x 60″), and pillow or wall hanging (24″ x 24″).
We are sewing with our Expressions Batiks for this sew along. These fabrics are truly the perfect choice for this design! We love the unique look, rich color, and feel of these fabrics. New to our batiks? They’re so great! But don’t take our word for it, here’s a review from a maker who recently made a project with Expressions Batiks.
Long story short, when I worked part-time at a local quilt shop, the shop’s inventory was about 70% batiks. I did not like them and the smell didn’t agree with me. I was blown away by the Riley Blake Expression Batiks – bravo!!!! They were sturdy while still being soft and didn’t smell. I may officially be a batik convert. Also, as my neighbor and I were taking the photos in our front yard a number of people stopped and asked to see the quilt close up. Beautiful!

Sew at Your Own Pace
We love doing sew alongs with you but sometimes, especially in the fall months, we want to slow down and not be tied to such a strict schedule. With that in mind we decided to make this a sew at your own pace sew along! You can purchase the pattern (shop list below) and head over to our YouTube Channel where Teresa will show you how to make these beautiful leaf blocks. There are 9 chapters so be sure to watch them all for tutorials of the different sections.
