Friendship Quilt Along: Trustworthy

Amanda Herring’s Friendship Quilt Along continues today with the Trustworthy block! This block uses a foundation paper piecing technique to achieve clean, sharp lines that will have you looking like a quilting pro!

Amanda Herring teamed up with Fat Quarter Shop to create this super helpful VIDEO TUTORIAL that takes you step-by-step through the process of making this fun quilt block.

This was only my second time paper piecing, and I was nervous, but Amanda’s video is clear and easy to follow. Video tutorials are fabulous  for visual learners like myself!

I decided the Trustworthy block was the perfect size for a little mug rug! Isn’t it cute? It was so simple to make. After you finish your block, make your quilt sandwich (fabric back + batting + block). Quilt the three layers (for a mug rug, I use a very tight quilting pattern because it helps the mug rug lay nice and flat, giving stability to the mugs that will rest on it). Finish it off with some binding, and you are done!
