If you’re familiar with Shawn and her design work then you know she is the queen of characters! Shawn’s artwork is so unique and we love the detail and personality that shines through all of her illustrations. Cat’s Meow is a tribute to quilter’s who love cats and we think Shawn hit this one out of the park!
Ok, let’s talk details! Shawn brought a fun element to this cat-centered collection by including some little birds to mix things up! In one print you can see the birds in little bird houses and in another print the birds and the cats come together for a tossed print! In that print you can see some birds resting on a kitty’s head (to the annoyance of the cat) and other birds eating out of cat food bowls!
When we were choosing a quilt pattern to feature on the storyboard there was one pattern that really stood out as the obvious choice. I Love Cats by Amanda Niederhauser (aka Jedi Craft Girl) is THE quilt to make for cat lovers!
Amanda is truly the biggest cat lover we know! Meet her muse, Mufasa!
Mufasa often makes an appearance on Amanda’s blog and social media accounts and is a big helper for her in the studio. Check out this photo below of Mufasa basically writing the whole I Love Cats pattern himself.
