Hello, friends! It’s Julia from Bayhill Studio. Today I have a fun little Trip Around the World quilt to share with you featuring fabric from the adorable Roar collection designed by Citrus & Mint Designs.
This sweet little quilt measures approximately 48″ x 48″, making it the perfect size for a crib or toddler quilt.
As I looked at the fabrics in the Roar collection, I quickly decided this would make a fun Trip Around the World quilt, with the black/charcoal colors creating the overarching chain design while the rest of the fabrics are arranged in a random, “scrappy” order.
How cute are these tiny dinosaurs?! I love all of the prints in this fabric collection – the fossils, the text, the stripes…they are all so playful and perfect!
I used larger 3 1/2″ squares to make my 12″ blocks, which gives this classic quilt design a slightly more modern feel to it. I didn’t want to go any smaller with the squares, because I was worried I would lose some of the larger scale dinosaur prints. This size worked great.
There are several ways to assemble Trip Around the World quilt blocks. I opted to chain piece my blocks, and you can read more about how I did that on my BLOG or watch the video below for the complete tutorial.
I hope you’ll take a quick moment to subscribe to my YouTube Channel and to follow me on Instagram for more creative content and project inspiration.
