Hello friends! Gail here from Boo and Lu Patterns. Today I am sharing my make using the new collection by Natàlia Juan Abelló, Sweet Picnic!
Natàlia specializes in children’s illustrations and her playful style comes through so beautifully in this collection. I love a classic gingham print and this collection comes with multiple colorways making it perfectly versatile.
I chose to work with the gingham and bicycle ride prints in the sky colorway because I feel as though blue compliments my 5-year-old’s skin tone and eye color so beautifully. I just adore how these two prints complement each other when used together in one complete outfit.
I sewed up our brand new Areca Crop Top & Shorts pattern. Areca is a super fun crop top and short set featuring an optional back bow and ruffles. You have the option of choosing from a simple crop, a narrow tie-back crop, or a wide tie-back crop for extra coverage.
The shorts offer a very trendy paper bag style elastic waistband with the option of a simple hem or a flounce hem. As you can see, I opted to use the flounce hem and it turned out so much better than I imagined.
This whole set is so perfect for playing in the sunshine and having sweet picnics on the grass.
